A fine example of late nineteenth century bandstands.
Public conveniences were incorporated into the podium, and it was linked to the promenade by a bridge.
It currently presents a pathetic appearance, mutilated by vandalism and official neglect.
Now, in 2008, the City Council has undertaken to restore the Bandstand.
July 2009
The restoration is now complete - things do get better!
